Remedy Album Re-Design + Interview
Remedy (Shannon McMahon) is an indie singer-songwriter based in Brooklyn, New York. In 2018, she ignited my interest in Graphic Arts when I designed her self-titled EP using only Photoshop and my 2011 MacBook. Two years later, I gave the EP a face lift using the skills I acquired as a graphic design student.
Shannon asked for pink and punchy album artwork for her debut EP. Knowing her personally, I designed the album to reflect her personality as well as her music. The hot pink color palette coupled with a calligraphic display font gives the album a bold but sweet visual style.
For the accompanying interview, I chose to work with photos from an alternative album photoshoot that incorporated a more intimate color palette. The calligraphic display font was carried over to establish continuity between the interview and the album artwork. Creating album artwork for someone I watched grow up into a powerhouse vocalist was a rewarding experience.
