In 2021, I officially opened an Etsy to sell my illustration prints. These photos were for the product shots. I chose props that I felt spoke to the illustration’s aesthetics to enhance the illustration’s appeal.
Basic
“Basic” is a project that focuses on how consumer culture and basic necessities such as food and water can be considered luxurious depending on your socioeconomic background. To some, a bottle of water, the latest technology, and a closet full of clothes is commonplace, but to others, these commodities are difficult to come by. The way we view consumer culture is shaped by our upbringing and current economic standing. My goal for this project was to have the viewer reflect on what they define as a basic need.
Coastal Connect: Twin Identities

With the Twin Identities project, I was tasked with creating two separate brands based on one randomly chosen word. Each business needed a unique background story and mission statement. I was also asked to choose two deliverables to design for each brand, keeping the deliverables the same throughout. My word was “connect”. Immediately, I started to think about what connects people. Stories and travel, I thought. Thus, I created Coastal Connect Publishing and Coastal Connect Motels.
Coastal Connect Publishing

Keeping with the coastal, sea-faring theme, I chose a color palette of navy blue and red. Blue is meant to represent the reader’s vigilance while red represents their passion for reading. The logo, a boat setting sail for uncharted waters, is meant to symbolize discovery and adventure.

Coastal Connect Motel

Coastal Connect Motel’s visual identity was inspired by Mid-Century American design. The motel’s background story involves a retired jazz singer who revitalizes run-down motels on the west coast. The logo and color palette embodies the brand’s history as well as its aesthetics.

Masquerade Venezia

For this project, I was asked to make promotional material for an event. I chose a masked ball held annually in Venice, Italy, and changed the name to Masquerade Venezia. The event’s logo was inspired by 18th-century calligraphic monograms. The vibrant color palette reflects the event’s elegant and vivacious atmosphere.

Lucky Cat Tea Co.

Lucky Cat Tea Company is a loose leaf tea brand that I created for my senior exhibition. The exhibition focused on branding, packaging and 3D fabrication. The tea packaging and branding brief booklet were printed on cardstock and then cut on a laser cutter. I also designed and fabricated the vinyl for the deliverables.

The London Lantern Hotel

The London Lantern Hotel is a rebranding project for The Lonsdale Hotel in London. My goal was to turn Lonsdale into a reputable hotel brand. I chose art deco elements to reinforce the new brand’s elegant and clean visual identity. The black and gold color palette is meant to represent day and night, implying that the hotel is a place you can check into at any time.

Museum Wayfinding
For this assignment, I was asked to design wayfinding signs for a kid’s museum. The exhibits included Egyptian history, marine biology, space exploration, and a bug exhibit. I also designed auxiliary signage for the entrance/exit, cafe, and restroom. My goal was to keep the designs consistent and easily readable without any supporting text. I chose a vibrant, bold color palette to compliment the museum’s kid-friendly vibe. I wanted the signage to be immediately recognizable as well as fun to look at.
